Celebrating Arts, Culture, and Community

San Gabriel’s culture is more than what is read in history books. It’s alive and ours!

  • The San Gabriel Valley Symphony now calls the Mission Playhouse home. As Mayor, I voted to welcome them. Founded in memory of the Monterey Park victims, they give free tickets to local families — and our public school students play right beside the professionals.

  • The Mission Playhouse has hosted this city's recitals, graduations, and weddings since 1927. Next year it turns 100 — and we approved a strategic plan to preserve it for future generations.

  • Dumpling & Beer Fest turned 10 — attracting visitors from across the region who will support our local businesses.

  • Our second Lantern Festival brought thousands to Plaza Park, with displays shipped from Taiwan at no cost to the city.

  • Día de los Muertos honored those who have passed away — three altars, including one for those lost to cancer, and one for our pets.
