<p>San Gabriel’s culture is more than what is read in history books. It’s alive and ours!</p><ul><li><p><strong>The San Gabriel Valley Symphony now calls the Mission Playhouse home. As Mayor, I voted to welcome them.</strong> Founded in memory of the Monterey Park victims, they give free tickets to local families — and our public school students play right beside the professionals.</p></li><li><p><strong>The Mission Playhouse</strong> has hosted this city's recitals, graduations, and weddings since 1927. Next year it turns 100 — and we approved a strategic plan to preserve it for future generations.</p></li><li><p><strong>Dumpling &amp; Beer Fest turned 10</strong> — attracting visitors from across the region who will support our local businesses.</p></li><li><p><strong>Our second Lantern Festival brought thousands to Plaza Park</strong>, with displays shipped from Taiwan at no cost to the city.</p></li><li><p><strong>Día de los Muertos honored those who have passed away </strong>— three altars, including one for those lost to cancer, and one for our pets.</p></li></ul>
