Investing in Streets and Parks

In San Gabriel, we put our dollars where everyday life happens. Ensuring our streets, sidewalks, parks, and public spaces are well maintained is how we express our civic pride, block-by-block.

While I was Mayor in 2025-2026, we worked together to invest in:

• 1.4 miles of rehabilitated streets and 57 sidewalk repairs in one year so a senior with a walker, a parent with a stroller, and a kid on a bike can all get through safely.

• The Vincent Lugo Park parking lot, repaved.

• 245 street lights converted to LED along the Mission District, Junípero Serra, and surrounding corridors — brighter corners with better visibility and lower energy costs.

• 13 traffic signals upgraded so our intersections keep working when the power doesn't.

• Free compost giveaways serving more than 150 residents.

• Every street name sign will be replaced to help people better navigate our city.

As Mayor, I helped secure $500,000 from the LA County Regional Park and Open Space District to design the Smith Park Pool renovation, the step that makes us shovel-ready for the construction money. Our public works also improved the tennis and pickleball waiting area and kept the pool in good repair so families have somewhere to swim in the meantime.
