Small Businesses That Thrive

San Gabriel is home to numerous vibrant and family-owned small businesses. Our job as a city is to help them thrive. We launched our first-ever Small Business Saturday campaign, asking residents to spend their money three blocks from home instead of many miles away.

We also brought our weekly Farmers Market back to the Mission District — closing the street in front of the historic Mission Playhouse, with 30+ vendors, every Saturday from 9am to 1pm. This family friendly environment is a great way to buy fresh produce, artisan goods, and food from local vendors on a street that serves as the center of our city.

We're also evolving thoughtfully by addressing our housing needs and growing our local economy. Every new development should deliver meaningful benefits for our families and our community:

  • On San Gabriel Blvd, a new park will be at the heart of Pacific Square with a permanent tribute to our beloved San Gabriel Nursery and the family behind it.

  • Homes and neighborhood storefronts at The Province and The One, both now open.

  • The Artists and Makers Studios — a real home for local artists, instead of a garage.
